Mirror Mirror, Show Me What I Wanna See

Mirror Mirror, Show Me What I Wanna See

Whoever knows where that song lyric is from gets a thumbs up!

I've been using the same Ott-lite Natural Daylight Make-Up Mirror for almost 7 years now and while it has served me well during that time, the mirror tends to swivel on its own which annoys the poop out of me. After dealing with it for years, the tape that I used to keep it in place finally gave in so I decided I should, too.

I started looking for a new vanity mirror as a replacement and found one that I loved but quickly realized it was out of my price range at the moment so I looked around Amazon for a solution (hey, our prime subscription stays hot!). I found a tri-fold mirror with LED lights that's just what I need. There are so many versions of this from other companies for as much $89 but I figured these all come from the same (or similar) Chinese manufacturers so I decided to get the LED Lighted Makeup Mirror from Magicfly, which seems like a steal for $21.99.

It is very compact, much more so than my Ott-lite so it might even be possible to travel with this. The LED lights aren't quite as bright as my previous mirror but I don't mind that since I do most of my make-up by the window with natural sunlight. However, there have been times when I was doing my make-up prior to sunrise and wished that the lights were a little brighter (I also wished that I was back in bed LOL).

It comes with 2x and 3x magnification mirrors that fold out on the right side plus a 10x mini detachable mirror (not pictured) in case you really want to get up close and personal with your pores.

The mirror can't power itself so you will need to use one of its two options for power supply. The first is to use 4AAA batteries (not included). The second is the micro USB cable. This cable looks like it's for charging your phone but it is actually how you provide power to the mirror itself.

My overall impression of it is that it is an ok mirror for the cost. If you're really in a bind and need an inexpensive mirror, I would definitely recommend it. However, if you're someone who is really particular about their mirrors, I would recommend shelling out a bit more money for a better mirror. I'm probably going to do just that and keep this as a travel mirror.
