Product Review: Velour Lashes
The ones I own are from their Sephora exclusive Fluff'n Thick Silk Lash Collection. These lashes are made of 100% silk with a cotton thread band. These lashes claim to be long lasting and you should be able to use them for up to 20 times.
I can make $1.96 lashes last 10 wears, so there is no reason I can't make these Velour ones last more than 20. Besides, they cost $25 so I'm determined to get my money's worth!
Some cons about these lashes have to do with the band. I had an issue with the band poking me in the inner corner of the eye which made it quite uncomfortable. I didn't realize that the excess part was meant to be cut off so that was really my fault.
The second con is that since the band is thicker, it is quite stiff and harder to wrap around your eyelid. It takes more careful application to apply these beauties on. However, being that they are cotton, they will hold the shape that they are set in the most. This means that when you store them, you will need to make sure that you wrap them around the shape of the case. I made the mistake of haphazardly storing one of them and they became a little misshapen but not to the point that they are unwearable.
The cotton thread band also makes it harder to peel off the silicone adhesive at the end of the day. I haven't figured out a way to do this other than pulling off as much as I could. If you know of a better way, let me know.
Velour Lashes just released their new Naked Collection with invisible bands. I suspect that this will solve all, if not most, of the cons I mentioned. I'd love to hear from someone who's tried their new lashes!
